About AiCuris

AiCuris (name derived from 'anti-infective cures') is a pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, research and development of novel antiviral and antibacterial agents for the treatment of severe and potentially life-threatening infectious diseases. AiCuris has its roots in Bayer's long history of successful anti-infective drugs. Spun out in 2006 AiCuris owns a broad portfolio of R&D programs, compounds and intellectual property. The research fields in question are human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), hepatitis C, HIV, herpes and bacteria. We will on the one hand take existing heritage of anti-infective projects further through clinical development (actual up to phase II) and has on the other hand a strong commitment to identify new drugs by in-house discovery research.

We are seeking a qualified person to establish and manage our external bioanalytical service providers within the department of pharmacokinetics & pharmacometrics

Responsibilities

  • The bioanalytical coordinator (BC) plans and coordinates all operational activities required for the collection, delivery and analysis of biosamples within non-clinical studies and clinical trials, while being simultaneously assigned to multiples studies. The BC is the primary interface for operational activities between AiCuris non-clinical and clinical development team members and external bioanalytical service providers and is the first point of contact regarding all aspects of sample handling.
  • Furthermore, the BC is the responsible person for quality management according to Good laboratory practises (GLP). This includes the generation and update of SOPs for bioanalytical and GLP related workflows and processes as well as the coordination of GLP-related audits and monitoring of GLP test facilities in collaboration with external GLP consultants.
  • The BC contributes to the definition, implementation and maintenance of new multidisciplinary ways of working in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Aicuris' development.

Key Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in analytical chemistry or a related field, with proven clinical or biological laboratory experience with processing and analysis of biological samples.
  • Detailed knowledge of Good laboratory practise (GLP).
  • Good interpersonal skills, i.e. positive & constructive attitude, desire and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and able to motivate and inspire his/her team members.
  • Good organizational skills including the capability of managing multiple competing priorities. Accuracy, detail-focussed without being a perfectionist, and able to maintain a complete overview over several projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information effectively to a variety of individuals in a manner that promotes interdisciplinary relationships. Good communication skills (to advise, convince, present and edit), specifically in the English language although useful, knowledge of German is not essential.
  • Experience with electronic data management and/or LIMS systems, non-clinical pharmacokinetics and/ or project management is beneficial.
  • Experience in DMPK is beneficial.
